Dominant le paysage d’Arles, la Tour LUMA est une réalisation spectaculaire imaginée par l’architecte Frank Gehry. Inaugurée en 2021, elle constitue le cœur du campus créatif LUMA Arles, installé sur le site des anciens ateliers ferroviaires. Haute de 56 mètres, la tour est habillée de plus de 11 000 panneaux en acier inoxydable qui captent et reflètent la lumière provençale, offrant un visage différent au fil des heures et des saisons.
Inspirée par les paysages rocheux des Alpilles, les coups de pinceau de Vincent van Gogh et les formes de l’amphithéâtre romain d’Arles, cette architecture audacieuse crée un dialogue entre patrimoine et création contemporaine. Véritable symbole du renouveau culturel de la ville, la tour LUMA accueille aujourd’hui des expositions, des espaces de recherche et de création, tout en offrant un point de vue exceptionnel sur Arles et la Camargue.
Dominating the skyline of Arles, the LUMA Tower is a striking contemporary landmark designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry. Opened in 2021 as the centerpiece of the LUMA Arles creative campus, the 56-meter-high building rises from the former railway workshops, combining art, architecture, research, and cultural exchange in a bold new destination.
